Let Freedom Ring

A popular song from 1776;

Come join hand in hand, brave Americans all

and rouse your brave hearts at fair Liberty’s call;

No tyrannous acts shall suppress your just claim

or stain with dishonor America’s name.

In freedom we’re born and in freedom we’ll live;

Our purses are ready. Steady, Friends steady.

I’m reading Rick Atkinson’s books on the revolutionary war and am so impressed with the dedication and heartfelt commitment of the men and women who gave their lives and purses to the pursuit of happiness, inalienable rights and freedom. So here we are, 250 years later, and feeling that those very rights and the constitution are being threatened by a tyrant, a totally self absorbed moron who is rapidly transforming our freedoms into pale images of what our forefathers and mothers fought for.

“Rouse your brave hearts” “Ready your purses” We can’t let the oval office be turned into a gilded joke or the constitution a worthless piece of paper.
