Wait . . . Wait
My grown childre reminisce about Christmas morning when they had to wait at the top of the stairs while Mom and Dad went downstairs to light the candles, plug in the tree and “to see if Santa had come”.
Anyone having gone to a hospital even if for one overnight observation will know waiting. Waiting to be admitted, waiting for blood work, waiting for test results, waiting for the midnight “vitals”, waiting for the doctor to make his rounds, waiting to go home.
And now we wait for the lilies to shoot up their newly green leaves, poking through the detritus of winter. We wait for the hummingbirds to make their way north, for the crocus, the daffodils, the green grass. We’ll wait, It’s worth it,
