Hope

The ancient Greek myth tells of Pandora who is entrusted with a box filled with all the miseries and evils known to man . She starts to peek in and out come all the evils. She hastily shuts the top but all escape except one . . . hope. Phew. Thank goodness.

Emily Dickinson.

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul

And sings the tune without the words

And never stops at all.

And sweetest in the Gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm,

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chillest land

And on the strangest Sea

Yet never in Extremity

It asked a crumb of me.

Obama. “Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary , that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it and to work for it and to fight for it.”

Thanks. Hope is what keeps us all going,
