Doubling Down

“Double the flavor, double the fun, double the pleasure with Doublemint gum”

I can sing it even now, 75 years later. Back then, we had double features, where for fifty cents, you got into the movies, enjoyed a newsreel, a cartoon and a feature length show, then, you could just stay in your seat and get another full length movie! The Lone Ranger, if you were lucky.

Last week the Reds had a rare double header. Not to mention the double play.

And do we double up? Or double down?

No hidden message here, no double entendre. Just enjoying the English language.
